Hermann Oberth - Katechismus der Uraniden - Ventla, 1966

Chapter 10
The Catechism of the Uranids

[...] But as far as we are concerned here, this can be summarized in the following seven sentences:

1. The soul survives its present body and is apparently immortal at all.

2. The practice is basically the soul and not the body, and the practice continues beyond death, so that in a later life we learn more easily what we have already been able to do.

3. The development of the world strives from chaos to cosmos, from the inorganic to the organic, from the struggle of all against all to the meaningful cooperation of all.

4. This development is guided by Providence, and this Providence needs souls who are skilled in influencing matter and want a harmonious world. How we imagine Providence, as an individual, as a working community of divine beings, or how else, was not clearly stated. – Perhaps this is also one of those terms which, according to Chapter 2, exceeds the comprehension of our brains.

5. Providence is not absolutely omnipotent. It can reach every goal it wants to reach and go every way it wants to go. BUT it CANNOT reach every goal in every way.

6. For further development, Providence makes use of the EXERCISE OF THE SOUL. The social urges of creatures in general and of earthly humanity in particular must be strengthened by EXERCISE.

7. Providence always intervenes in the course of our history when the event takes a path that could alienate the earth from its purpose as a planet of betterment and exercise.
